I had used a similar product 40+ years ago...one tends to loose site when you move about, life happens etc. After living in my home for 19+ years, tends to get a little chillier each year. I started looking for the plastic insulation for windows and came across this site!! First I have resealed ALL windows with the weather stripping, I caulked and re-caulked the entire upstairs, and ordered two three packs of (48"x72"). Once they came in I immediately cleaned the windows, and each blind slat, then installed them on my two windows in my bedroom. Yes, I fully intended on covering the window with the blinds close. I have a lot of allergies, so opening windows is a no go.
I can honestly say, I am pretty cozy and stay warm in the evenings, even during low temperatures. Last year I tried keeping my thermostat down at 98 degrees in winter, but kept putting it one or two degrees higher to take the chill out of the air. This year, I have kept the thermostat at 68 degrees, sometimes I forget I have it set for 67 degrees from 430am - 5pm during the weekdays. Before installing, going to bed meant, socks, slippers, bathrobe and several blankets - sometimes still getting a chill, after installation, can sleep normally and even got warm enough to move some of the blanket off, no chills.
This weekend, I will be installing the inserts in the two other upstairs bedrooms, then the living room. Then will follow up with a couple of the basement windows.
Thank you!!! works GREAT, absolutely NO cold coming from the window area at all!! And on the PLUS Side, the noise that was really bothering me, sensitive ears, I may slightly hear a muffled sound, but can work and concentrate on the computer without issues.
Thank You!!!

Hello. I have been searching for this exact item for days. I have been to 12 window stores and large home improvement stores and none knew what I was talking about. Thanks to RuxEco I jave them now and I am able to update my windows with another air barrier by using these items with 8 mil vinyl sheeting to stop any air or leaks from getting into our home in this brutally cold winter. Again I appreciate this company for carryig these ever important items and for shipping them so quickly as well. (Below is a picture f the adhesive strips and the gasket holding the vinyl sheeting in place around my window- clean and neat). Thanks RuxEco
Im really happy already with this product. I was looking for something for winters that is more durable. The ones with double-sided tape would always end up falling off. The fact the plastic can be removed and reused each year makes it worth the premium you pay vs the cheaper stuff.
I have larger windows but was still able to get the 48" width and run trim on the middle, and it still managed to snap in place with two layers.
I can't speak highly enough about their customer service. I had a small issue with the wrong size film being sent and they resolved it no fuss. I also had another order that I later asked to cancel and it was a breeze.
I have been looking for something to seal the windows in Winter besides using the standard shrink wrapping kits. My windows have a ledge, not a flat edge all away around the window. I was able to jerry-rig a way, with the extra pieces, so I could use the kits. I have a heavy duty tin snips that allows me to cut the pieces to the right size as well. I will be ordering more kits for my other windows that can use this.
I used 2 kits and taped the seam using weather using tape. It’s doing a great job of keeping the drafts out and letting light in. Super sturdy. Glad I found these.
Very pleased with the outcome, start with your most coldest or hottest room first. The materials are cheap, plus u can take it off anytime u want and put it back up with no problem.
I made a slight mistake on my presious review (my home temperature) Summer I keep the temparature 98 degrees / Winter I keep the temperature at 67 degrees. It's been a few months now, four of the major windows upstairs have been completed with the plastic insulation. Yes, its been slightly cooler this year on the outside, but the house stays at a constant, even though the outside does not. I can't remember the last time my heating/air unit was in use. The unit fan runs every once in a while , but only to move the air about in the home so it's not stagnant.
I do feel these inserts are also assisting in keeping out any pollen that may have slipped by through my windows in the past. I breath so much better in the house. I am absolutely please I found this company! Through times where prices are two high to invest in upgrading windows etc, thank you so much for offering these at an offordable price to live comfortably!!!

IF YOU WANT TO KEEPOUT THE DRAFT THIS IS THE PRODUCT FOR YOU. IT PERFORMS EXACTY AS IT SHOULD.
These were easy to install. I used them for installing screens in my porch windows that didn't come with screens. This next winter I should be able to use them for plastic on the windows.
If you have older windows and don't want to replace, there's a few options.
1. Get the shrinkwrap style kits - need to reapply annually, when you remove the glue/tape the paint comes off, and the adhesive doesn't always stick.
2. Expensive windows inserts that are about 70$+ each - this is the best option if you can afford it
3. This product. It lives in middle of the two in that it's not obscenely expensive while being affective, but isn't as pretty as the inserts. The plastic channels aren't removable without paint damage, but they're not too conspicuous in most use cases
Exactly what I was looking for. I needed the reusable frame for my windows. You have to peel the insert carefully off the track or the track can come off. If you remove track it can take paint with it. Doesn’t matter since it really stops the drafts in the old wooden sash windows.
I got the package and it was self explanatory and easy to install. It took me about 15 minutes to install and now there is no draft coming from my window
Folded it left wrinkles that would have been extremely difficult to get out. Also, clear would not be as I would describe it. I am not using it for indoor windows as I intended. Would be great for areas like porches that are not being used or definitely for greenhouses. I can use it for other things. I ended up going with shrink film for my windows and their framing strips which are excellent.
These are the best I have used in terms of adhesive and depth of track.
I was looking all over for this and usually received it from our city weatherization program but they no longer issue so my son found this and I can get my house warmer this winter season.
Installed these and they work great. Heat shrink window insulation is tight and keeping the cold air out.
Ordered these to put plastic up on a window and they are perfect. They shipped immediately and got in two days! Great product and great customer service. A go to place.
The plastic sheeting is great!
Easy install and is doing exactly what it was needed for. Only problem is I pulled the plastic too tight and the 3M tape couldn’t hold the plastic in plce with a wind blowing on it (it’s not on a window, it’s on a screen). Used glue to put it back and no problems so far! Great product!
Very nice product and easy to install
Glad to find this item finally. It's hard to find but they had it and it came at a decent time.
Wont buy again system to install sucks
It's a good, less expensive alternative to storm windows. The zippers stick really good. Need to place them where you want them first time. I took cover off half, put where I wanted it & slid rest of it off as I went down.
Zipper is a bit hard to push in but it stays put. And is removable if needed. Liked them so well I ordered some more for windows in camper. And told someone else about them & he may order.
